The UN verifies civilians killed and injured. Injured does not mean everyone who experienced any form of harm. Children are included in the corresponding overall UN figures. Monthly values reconcile with annual and cumulative figures.
Adults: 17,257 − 835 = 16,422 killed; 53,693 − 3,247 = 50,446 injured. Cumulative child counts are 452 + 356 + 27 = 835 killed, and 1,672 + 1,290 + 285 = 3,247 injured: boys, girls and children whose sex is not yet known, on page 4 of the report.

Human Rights Watch, Truth Hounds and SITU Research describe the destruction of physical evidence through demolition by Russian authorities in Mariupol. Unknown losses cannot be added as invented precise figures.
